Color Quantization Using Weighted Products

bstract A novel algorithm for color quantization called CoQuWeiP（color quantization using weighted products） is proposed to compromise the needs of presenting abundant color layers of the image with trivial contrast along with presenting the essential details of the image with distinct contrast.It considers both color layers and essential details by assigning weights to pixel numbers and color distances.This algorithm can meet different requirements of different quantization tasks by choosing proper weights.It is an adjustable quantization algorithm.Experiments show that the algorithm is effective for adjusting quantization results and gives good quality of color image.
