Study on Machining Features Matching for 3D Machining Process Reuse

  • In order to realize effective reuse of the existing three-dimensional machining process planning, a matching method of machining features is proposed based on the process knowledge. Firstly, through the establishment of an integrated process route with the machining feature as the integrated unit, the effective organization and expression of process information on dynamic evolution can be achieved. Then, a multi-level manager is created to describe the machining feature based on the object-oriented approach, and the topological relation of machining features is expressed and recorded in the adjacency matrix of the face group attributes. Finally, the process information is divided into three layers:the process layer, the geometry layer and the property layer. The same machining features are accurately matched by the proposed method of hierarchical retrieval. The experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively realize fast matching of machining features and lay a foundation for the reuse of 3D process information.
