Contour-Parallel Tool-Path Planning of Free-Form Surface

Abstract
A new algorithm to calculate geodesic curve quickly is presented. Based on this method, the area partitioning idea of Voronoi diagram is extended to the application of two-dimensional Riemann manifold. The area partitioning of free-form surface with island is solved by an iteration method, then the generation of contour-parallel tool path is implemented. The validity of this algorithm is verified by an example.
