Research of A Step-Based Tool for the Integration of CAD/CAPP

For a long time,the integration of CAD/CAPP is one of difficulties in CIMS.With the development of STEP standard,more and more CAD systems support STEP standard,so a STEP-based tool for integration of CAD/CAPP is necessary.This paper establishes a model mapping between AP203and AP224protocols by applying STEP.In addition,the paper gives the model mapping from STEP structures to C models.By using these methods,we design a PNP tool——ApiTool which is independent of any specific CAD and CAPP systems.It is used well in some important projects.
