Dots Array Based 3D Surface Data Acquisition and Implementation

Abstract
Present 3D acquisition techniques include time of flight(TOF),laser scanning and structure lighting,which all have common drawbacks:complicated,expensive and difficult to use.Dots array based 3D acquisition is an innovative approach.By projecting a 2D dots array onto surfaces to be measured,and using two cameras to capture images synchronously,we can recover 3D positions of each dot in such dots array according the parallax between two images.With a single shot,we can acquire 3D shape instantly and dynamically.We also implement an automatic registration and real-time display software,which can minimize manual operations,and make 3D measurement in a rapid,automatic and easy way.
