A PARALLEL CLUSTERING APPROACH BASED ON GENERAL CONNECTIVITY AND ITS APPLICATION TO POLYCELL PLACEMENT

Abstract
A new approach for clustering applied to polycell placement is presented. General connectivity is considered to be direct and indirect connections between cells. In our clustering approach, we choose general connectivity as clustering value and use a test procedure to check if the cluster is convergent. This clustering algorithm has been implemented in C language on Micro VAX Ⅱ. The results of placement which is guided by clustering results are satisfactory.
