The Mixed Curvature and the G² Continuity Visualization of Surfaces

Surface interrogation and visualization play an important role in industrial design and analysis.This paper proposes the concept of the mixed curvature to represent the G² continuity.Compared with the single-curvature based analysis methods,it can handle more singular cases.Based on it,the algorithms of the texture mapping and the adaptive mesh subdivision satisfy the real-time rendering and the adjustable resolution.Examples illustrate the effectiveness of this method.
