Reconstruction of Hybrid Models Composed of Analytic and Free-form Surfaces by Using Constrained Optimization Method

  • Firstly the representations of plane,sphere,cylinder,and cone surfaces are described,as well as the distance metrics of points to these surfaces.Then,the constraint equations to ensure the continuity between analytic surfaces and freeform surfaces are presented.Finally,the constrained fitting problem is solved by the penalty function method.Examples are given to illustrate applications of the proposed method in reverse design of industrial parts.
