A DISTRIBUTED ENGINEERING DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM——dEDBMS

With the deeper development of CAD/CAM application,engineering DBMS with distributed function are urgently needed.So,on the basis of EDBMS/2,which is a single-user engineering database management system developed by our Lab.,we designed and implemented the dEDBMS system——a distributed Engineering DataBase Management System.dEDBMS is based on the extended client/server architecture presented by the author,and runs under the SUN TCP/IP network environment.In views of characteristics of engineering application,dEDBMS provides two kinds of distributed service mode:RDA (Remote Database Access) and check out/check in,supports automatic server allocation,and possesses necessary distributed control functions.
