Completeness Testing of Dimensioning in Multi-Views Based on Space Coordinate Transformation

  • Completeness testing of dimensioning is an important part of CAD/CAPP/CAM, but due to the multiplicity of views and flexibility of allocating dimensions, the problem has not been solved perfectly. In our approach, the screen coordinates of different views in a part drawing are converted to an unique space coordinate, and the nonlinear dimensioning schemes are decomposed into several sets of linear dimensions. Then, testing whether the dimensions in the drawing are redundant or insufficient is carried out by logical reasoning.
