Finding Disassembly Direction in Assembly Sequence Planning

  • Disassembly approach is often used in assembly sequence planning. A complete assembly sequence set cannot be generated if disassembly directions are confined to the orientations of coordinate axes. An approach to find the feasible local disassembly direction set (LDS) is presented by applying spherics to analyzing assembly constraints. Then the global disassembly direction is finally determined by verifying the disassembled part being free from interference on its retrieval path. This method can be applied to engineering practice conveniently.
