A HEAD TURNING MODEL FOR COMPUTER-AIDED CHARACTER ANIMATION

  • A head turning model for computer-aided character animation is presented in this paper. Assume two extreme key frames are adopted, one is front head image, the other is profile head image. After a head skeleton is constructed, cut planes are utilized to cut this skeleton to get control points. Those points are interpolated to get cut selection of the head which are piled up to construct a three dimensional head image.By specifying the rotation axis, edge detection and hidden line removal, the model can generate correct head turning inbetweens.
