A Local Deformation Framework Based on the Significance of Content for Storyline Visualization

  • To solve the problem of partial enlargement of Storyline visualization view, a local deformation framework based upon the significance of content is proposed. The local deformation technologies widely used in the field of information visualization are compared and analyzed. Then the calculations for visual elements and their significance are described. And the entity elements with higher significance are enlarged. With the guidance of Gaussian function, the partial enlargement and smooth transition for the important inter-session elements are conducted.Lines are relocated according to the weight of their location. Finally, the method is applied to the Storyline visualization view using the experimental data of the movie Inception.Experimental results show that it is effective to coordinate the integral structure and partial detail information of Storyline visualization view.
