ANALYTIC APPROACH TO SOLVE 3D ASSEMBLY CONSTRAINTS

  • Conventional methods in solving 3D assembly constraints are derived from those in handling 2D constraints by numerical iteration.Analytic approach is put forward in this paper based on three assumptions commonly adopted in assembly modeling.Transformations are applied to the reference component and object component to make them contact with each other in the right assembly position.Compared with numerical method,analytic approach not only has clear geometric meaning,but also improves the solving efficiency considerably.
