Trajectory Planning of Automated Fiber Placement for Meshed Surface in Fixed Angle Algorithm

  • To study the automated fiber placement (AFP) trajectory planning method on meshed surfaces with fixed angle algorithm (FAA), the related algorithms and their features are summarized.Then, the benefits of planning on meshed surfaces and the reason that the surfaces are meshed in STL files are analyzed.Furthermore, two algorithms classified by the method, which can be applied on meshed surfaces, are introduced.The singular problem and non-solution problem involved in the algorithms are analyzed and their solutions are proposed.Finally, to demonstrate the proposed FAA for meshed surfaces, the algorithm is programmed and the trajectories are interpolated according to the results.The introduction of FAA into meshed surfaces enlarges the application of FAA, lowers the difficulty of trajectory planning, and improves its efficiency.
