GEOMETRIC CONSTRAINTS IN SOLID MODELING

  • Solid modeling is a constraint-based process. It converts functional constraints into geometric ones. The geometric constraints are then changed into algebraic ones, and finally into solid models. The hierarchy and representation of geometric constraints, the Geometric Constraint Graph (GCG) and the Secondary Constraint Graph (C2) are proposed to represent solid models. The design intent is embodied in the GCG and the C2.
