Simulation of Half-Dry Stroke Based on Force Feedback Technology

  • A novel method of the half-dry stroke simulation based on the force feedback technology is presented in virtual painting. According to the deformation of brush model with the exerted force, an algorithm of brush stroke painting is proposed. A database of the half-dry texture is established by analyzing its characteristics under different techniques of painting and the force influence on the half-dry stroke. The half-dry texture in the database is mapped to the brush stroke by using texture mapping technology and texture blending technology. The proposed method has been successfully applied to the virtual painting system based on the force feedback technology, which has gained excellent effect.
