Distributed Integrated Information System for Product Design

The structure of Distributed Integrated Information System for product design(DIIS) and its key issues are presented. The methods of representing, storing and transferring knowledge in DIIS are discussed in detail. Based on Internet network, an approach to acquire knowledge quickly in DIIS is achieved. Finally, a prototype is developed to demonstrate feasibility of the structure and constructional method of DIIS. The work provides a scheme for accelerating the knowledge acquisition and shortening the cycle of product development.
