The Research on Interactive Experiences of Graphical Tactile Displays for the Visually Impaired

In the era of Internet, visually impaired people are eager to access graphics comprehensions. This paper presents an up-to-date survey of graphical tactile displays together with their haptic interactive experience research. These devices provide information through the sense of touch. This work studies various type of graphical tactile displays and their usability by human haptic physiological analysis. Then two groups of graphical tactile displays are listed, followed by two groups of user experiments, analyzing their interactive experiences from the key design parameters and drive modes. Last but not least, a group of design principles are demonstrated for the design of tactile graphics displays.
