Abstract
This Paper presents an editing technique for the motion captured human biped animation data. Our algorithm adopts footprints to describe the spacetime constraints which should be satisfied during biped locomotion, and motion editing interface is designed to enable the animator to adjust the footprints. A realtime inverse kinematics (IK) solver is adapted to compute the configuration of human body and then motion displacement mapping is constructed through hierarchical B-spline. In order to facilitate IK solver, our algorithm proposes a sampling based scheme to generate root trajectory.
