Principle and Architecture of Rapid Virtual Design Based on Virtual Prototyping Simulation

  • A design methodology, namely rapid virtual design based on virtual prototyping simulation is put forward, and its features and principles are discussed. The methodology is concurrent engineering oriented design methodology that is based on virtual prototypes and virtual environments and puts emphasis on the quick generation and evolvement of the virtual prototypes. Its key research issues are presented at three levels namely key technology level, prototype system level, and developing environment level. A model for rapid virtual design based on virtual prototyping simulation is put forward, based on which its architecture is presented.
