The Strategy of Redesign Problem Solving

This paper studies redesign problem solving strategy theory based on dependency-directed backtracking in expert system for design. It studies the method that records dependencies of derived facts, checks and maintains consistence of tact base, and provides backtracking point information according to dependencies by truthmaintenance system. Version management technology is applied to manage fact base of an expert system and the role of the version management system of facts in reasoning is also discussed.
