Binary Mask Based Image Synthesis Method and Its Applications

  • In this paper,we present a new image synthesis method.Texture sample is divided into foreground and background.Their corresponding binary mask images according to texture's features are also generated.Then distortion method is used to generate similar texture foregrounds and their binary mask images.These similar texture foregrounds are extracted and copied onto a larger background image and a new output image could be synthesized randomly, interactively or automatically with the predetermined track.The texture foregrounds'density and tracking direction can be controlled by their dynamic binary mask images.Compared with other methods,our method requires fewer texture samples to generate large synthesized image.The sheltering effect between texture foregrounds can be shown in this method while the texture foregrounds are overlapped.Some synthesizing results are given.This method can be applied in generating nature scene,random texture and artificial images.
