A Survey of Rendering Atmospheric Effect

The most important feature of outdoor scene is the existence of atmosphere.The influence that atmosphere exerts on illumination counts for much in the correct rendering.This paper reviews the development of rendering technology for atmosphere and atmospheric scene and makes a survey of radiative transfer theories,sky and sun model,atmosphere models,related rendering algorithms and application.At the end ofthis paper,we also briefly introduce the remaining research areas.
