Path Optimization of Case Modification with Extended DSM

Abstract
Design structure matrix (DSM) is extended to dynamic and static ones.Elements of the dynamic DSM predict the parameter set going to be modified,while elements of the static DSM represent the importance degree of the corresponding parameters to reach the destination goal.Using mapping arithmetic, static DSM is formulated and subsequently rebuilt to get the best path of case modification.Dynamic DSM varies in the design process,being continuously mapped to the static DSM to reach path optimization in any design stage.A case studying of designing the key parts of an astronomic telescope modeled with extended DSM is presented,showing the approach is practicable and valuable.
