Abstract
A weighted Catmul-l Clark subdivision scheme is presented.The algorithm first introduces a weighted subdivision process applied to the initial control mesh.The resultant mesh is further recursively subdivided by using Catmul-l Clark subdivision scheme. With different weights,the user can conveniently control the local approximation accuracy between the limit surface and the initial control mesh.The experimental results demonstrate that our algorithm is very simple and has more freedom than Catmul-l Clark method.It has great potential in many application fields.
