A WebGIS component system named Geo-Union is constructed in Internet/WWW environment based on COM/DCOM．Its spatial data model，architecture，component layers and partition of component functions are presented in detail．Spatial index and spatial cache techniques are also applied to improve the WebGIS performance． Geo-Union has been adopted in many domains with very nice effect．
