Computer Aided Design of Bioprosthetic Heart Valve

  • Based on the heart anatomy and membrane theory,we establish the geometrical parametric model of bioprosthetic heart valve by Pro E to reach the function of the human heart valves.Considering both traditional design theories and modern design method,we take turns to create the sphere, cylinder, paraboloid surfaces and then make them to intersect with inverse conic surfaces in order to get satisfied boundary curves and important points on the actual condition. After constructing parametric models of bioprosthetic heart valves via computer aided design,a series of accurate dimension parameters are obtained. The experimental result of the finite element analysis reveals that stress distribution of spherical valve leaflets is superior to those of paraboloid and cylindrical valves leaflets. This work is helpful to make optimization design for the bioprosthetic heart valve and prolongs the lifetime of the synthetic heart valve.
