Feature Sequence Reconstrustruction of 3D CAD Stretching Model for Reuse

  •  The reuse of 3D CAD model can improve the product development cycle and reduce the cost. Modeling features are often lost when 3D models are exchanged between modeling systems using neutral exchange files. In order to reuse these models by modifying features, it is necessary to reconstruct the modeling feature sequence, which involves identifying the features and modeling processes. To this end, feature recognition is implemented by analyzing the traces of intersecting modeling features. Boolean operation is used to separate the identified features from the original model and update the model data. In this way, the modeling features are recognized and eliminated, which simplifies the problem of feature recognition and segmentation and better solves the problem of feature recognition and segmentation caused by feature intersection in modeling. Testing on a subset of models from the ESB model library shows that the method can reconstruct the modeling feature sequence of CAD model effectively, which lays a foundation for the reuse of 3D model.
