Filtering Impulse Noise of Laser Scanned Data

On the basis of analyzing Feng Lei's algorithm and the moving least median of squares (MLMS) of Error, the paper presents a new filtering algorithm. The algorithm uses statistic characteristics of data as well as noise to implement the filtering process. Examples indicate that the algorithm achieves good tradeoff between removing outlier points and preserving useful data points.
