Data Structure of Products for Integrated CAD/CAM Systems

The key problems in product modelling for integrated CAD/CAM sy stems are the information structures and representations of products. They are pla ying a more and more important role in engineering applications. With the investiga tion on engineering product information and from the viewpoint of industrial proce ss, information model s are proposed and the definitions of the framework of product information are given in this paper. And then, the integration and the consistence of product information are discussed by introducing the entity and its instance. In sho rt, the information structures described in this paper have many advantages and nat ures helpful in engineering design.
