A Research on the 2D/3D Associative Graph Structure of Piping Network

Abstract
This paper presents a new approach to the piping network modeling techniques. Based on the topological properties,the constraints in piping network are classified into overall constraints,layout constraints and local constraints.Feature points are defined to describe the overall topological relationship among the piping components in a network system,and the pipe line routing framework as well as insertion points on the frame are used to define the layout constraints and local constraints of piping components.As a result,a2D/3D associative graph structure for the2D P&ID and 3D piping layout is built.This graph can describe the relationship between different phases of piping design process,and navigate the piping layout procedures from conceptual design to detail design.
