Design of Multiple Case Base with Product Information Model Indexed by Key Characteristics

  • The way of representing product information model and case base indexing is the basis of case-based design. An information model of part, component and product indexed by main parameters is presented that facilitates the description of cases in relational database and implementation of table-driven product-level parametric design technology. Based on the information model, a new method of multiple case base design is given which helps to standardize the case base implementation with few redundancy. Using the methods, a Dedicated Computer Aided Fixture Design System has been developed and used well in an aviation project.
