Visual Analysis of Gameplay Data

As online game becomes popular, gaming environment gets complicated and game player population bursts, using large behavior data of player to analyze and understand players' behaviors and game performance is taken more seriously. To assure effectiveness and intuitiveness when understanding thousands of data, researchers tried corresponding visual methods and techniques. This paper, which is concerned with the tasks of game developers, summarizes and discusses the development and challenge of prior work and corresponding techniques on two directions, game performance evaluation and analysis of players' behavior, as well as suggesting the future work of visualization tool and techniques.
