VARIATIONAL OPTIMIZATION METHOD IN G¹ SURFACE CONSTRUCTION

This paper gives an approach to cope with the twist problems in G¹ surface construction. The surface twists are caused by the contradiction between G¹ constraints on the control points of surfaces and the free input of them. Here, we utilize the multi- pass linear variational optimization method to adjust the surface control points automatically so that the surfaces are not only G¹ continuous but also fair.
