Research on the Product Coordination Model Under Concurrent Engineering Environment

  • Under the CE environment,the dynamic and consistent information association among various application activities in the full life cycle of the product is a key issue to the successful cooperation among different application domains.In order to establish the association,a design- process-based product coordination model has been proposed.This model borrows the ideas of feature coding mechanism,the private protocol of the history-based form feature modeling, and builds on it the Data Coordination Protocol,so that the model can provide the way of constructing and maintaining the connection between the product geometry and application-specific information naturally and dynamically,while keeping the privacy of the feature coding.Two case studies are given to illustrate the utilities of the model in assembly modeling and the conversion from design features to manufacturing features.
