Abstract
There are some disadvantages when applying the data-flow based visualization modules or toolkits into application-specific areas.We analyze the requirements and problems in application- specific computation and visualization and present an architecture of the ASVE(Application- Specific Visualization Environment) which include three main components: Modeling,Computation, Visualization (MCV).We integrate the attributes mapping technique and application programming interface as a uniform data model to effectively support the computation and visualization. The architecture can be used as a framework for developing a user-customized visualization environment with easiness,flexibility and extensibility.We also demonstrate an ASVE example for studying the arc deflection phenomenon in 150-ton electric arc furnace.
