Shape Modification of Surfaces Via External Energy Constraints
A method for shape modification of surfaces via external energy constraints is proposed. It can be used for interactive design of NURBS surfaces.Thin plate model is introduced to calculate the internal energy of the surface，and all constraints for shape modification are merged into the external energy terms of the surface.A new surface with minimal total energy is generated by solving an unconstrained minimization problem.
