Application of Improved Genetic Algorithm to Assembly Operations Optimization

  • For automobile body with multi-connections among components and multi-sequences,an improved assembly modeling method is presented,which describes precedence relations among components and joints information used in tolerance analysis.Furthermore,based on the automobile body assembly model, an improved genetic algorithm is proposed to determine optimal assembly operations on components.The search efficiency can be improved and the possibility of search for the globally optimal solutions is increased. An automobile body side assembly is taken as an example to validate the advantages of the algorithm.
