Anisotropic Textile Modeling Based on Material Fabric

  • Physically based cloth simulation has become a key technique of virtual garment and try-on systems. However, a approach capable on simulating the cloth in both visual and physical realism has not been available. A new anisotropic textile modeling method based on mass-spring system is presented in this paper, which models the warps and wefts separately conforming to texture composition of different material fabrics. Our simulation process consists of two main steps: firstly, the rigid object simulation and secondly the flexible mass simulation approaching equilibrium. The technique of multiresolution modeling is employed to balance the presentation realism and computational cost. Experimental results demonstrate the efficiency of our method.
