Color Design System for Computer-Aided Industrial Design

To remedy the deficiency of current color design tools,a new software strategy to tackle the issue of product color design is proposed.New approaches include：constructing special color palette to get metal,plastic and other specific color polish；constructing a perceptually uniform color space of Lab and using regular geometric frame to achieve color harmony；constructing color knowledge base for a specific industry；and applying integrated fuzzy methods to evaluate the result of color design.A prototype CAID color design system was developed with a case of machine tool color design as example.
