A Multi-experience Theater System Based on Audience Interaction

  • The multi-experience theater, such as fly theater and 4D theater, rarely supports audience participation. A multi-experience theater system based on audience interaction is proposed in this paper. In the preprocessing stage, users need to pre-define the relationship between movie and interactive action to configure the interactive nodes of the movie to form a configuration file. During the stage of playing the movie, once the interactive node is reached, the system runs the action and/or speech recognition module to capture the interactive action and/or voice information and reads the configuration file to get relationship between interactive instruction and movie to be played. Then, it selects or controls the movie according to the result of recognitions, i.e. the user interaction command. A user experience evaluation shows that compared with traditional super-experience theater, the proposed system offers user stronger, more natural and immersive recreational experience.
