Research on VR Based Parametric CAD System for Bathroom Ceramic Products

According to the requirements of performance, process planning and aesthetics in bathroom ceramic product design, a general architecture of Virtual Reality based CAD system was worked out. Some analysis and styling algorithms used to realize the parametric design of toilet through simple and friendly user-interface are described in detail. Using this system, real-time modification and rendering can be fulfilled during the design phase. A virtual environment is implemented to assist customers choosing desired products. Practical application shows that the customized CAD system can improve the efficiency of new product development so to satisfy the rapidly changing demands on market.
