Green Design Oriented Product Family Planning

  • Targeting on realizing green design for mass customization, environment factors are taken account into product family planning. Quantitative analysis is given about green performance of inner structural units of product family from four aspects: disassembly performance, recycle performance, environmental influence and economic performance. Based on the correlation analysis on quantified results, fuzzy cluster algorithm is applied to classify the product family structural unit instances. The instances satisfying customer's green performance requirements are chosen to participate in configuration design, and a green design oriented product family planning method is given. Taking the product family planning of automatic soybean milk maker as an example, the above-mentioned method is validated and analyzed.
