A New Boolean Operation Algorithm Based On Cross-Section Chart

This paper introduces a new algorithm for boclean operations,which converts the solid operation,a 3-D problem in nature,into 2-D situation by applying the information of cross-section chart. Its principle and structure are described in detail. Its formal description in the case of union operation is also presented. The algorithm has already been applied in a solid modeling system.
