A Computation Model on Real-Time Interactive Soft Tissue Cutting and Deformation

In order to improve surgical simulation,a computational model on real-time interactive soft tissue cutting and deformation has been presented in the paper.Based on a hybrid condensed finite element model applied to the soft tissue including both operational and non-operational regions,the calculation to the operational region can be substantially accelerated by the graphics processing unit(GPU) and at the same time,the dragging or pushing operations to the non-operational region can be readily handled.Testing results show the efficiency of our model for the real-time simulation of soft tissue cutting and deformation.
