Case Study of Product Conceptual Design Based on Integrated Knowledge

Concerning user knowledge, the user implicit knowledge acquisition, representation, distribution and application were studied. The mapping of user image to design knowledge, and hierarchical representation of product model with feature gene, feature, and style were discussed. Key techniques to realize the acquisition, representation and application of user implicit knowledge, as well as the integration of user knowledge and design knowledge were presented. Then the product conceptual design theory based on integrated knowledge was put forward and verified by a mobile phone design system, which supports collaborative work for user and designer on the same platform and provides a consistent knowledge system for collaborative Web-based design.
