Multilevel Energy Minimization Algorithm for Local Fairing of Freeform Curve

Both wavelet method and energy method for curve fairing belong to global fairing algorithm. In this article, multilevel energy functional is constructed by combining multiresolution wavelet analysis with energy method. The data compression effect of multiresolution wavelet analysis can improve the efficiency of energy method, and energy method can deal with boundary constraints. Tests show that multilevel energy algorithm can smooth the curve locally with high efficiency.
