SPATIAL COHERENT FOOTPRINT:A FAST VOLUME RENDERING METHOD

Abstract
The spatial coherent footprint presented in this paper is a new, fast volume rendering method that takes advantage of data space coherence. Through classifying voxels as boundary ones and inner ones, and rearranging the latter into blocks, both rendering speed and image quality are improved. Theoretical analysis and experiment of the new method are shown.
