Video Shot Detection Based on Scale Invariant Features

Shot boundaries were detected by analyzing temporal evolution of the number of matched scale invariant features across frames,and two different measure schemes were proposed,namely pair-wise based matching and chain matching.The number of matched points within a shot usually varies smoothly,but changes rather markedly across shot boundaries.All kinds of shot transitions are detected within the same scheme,with the advantage of avoiding model selection and parameter adjustment.
